Hi friends!
I’m off on a whirlwind, week-long book tour to support the paperback launch of THE PARIS DAUGHTER (in stores nationwide today!), and I wanted to take a moment to tell you about the book and about my book tour! I hope that if you haven’t read THE PARIS DAUGHTER yet, you might consider it in paperback this week!
(One addition to the paperback is the answer — in the author’s note — to the question I get most frequently, about the character of Jack Fitzgerald! The paperback also includes a Reading Group Guide for book clubs!)
An instant New York Times bestseller and Goodreads Choice Award nominee!
“A gorgeous, gut-wrenching” (Kate Quinn, New York Times bestselling author) historical novel about two mothers facing unthinkable choices as the Nazis invade France—from the New York Times bestselling author Kristin Harmel.
Paris, 1939: Young mothers Elise and Juliette become fast friends the day they meet in the beautiful Bois de Boulogne. Though there is a shadow of war creeping across Europe, neither woman suspects that their lives are about to irrevocably change.
When Elise becomes a target of the German occupation, she entrusts Juliette with the most precious thing in her life—her young daughter, playmate to Juliette’s own little girl. But nowhere is safe in war, not even a quiet little bookshop like Juliette’s Librairie des Rêves, and, when a bomb falls on their neighborhood, Juliette’s world is destroyed along with it.
When the war finally ends, Elise returns to reunite with her daughter, only to find her friend’s bookstore reduced to rubble—and Juliette nowhere to be found. What happened to her daughter in those last, terrible moments? Juliette has seemingly vanished without a trace, taking all the answers with her. Elise’s desperate search leads her to New York—and to Juliette—one final, fateful time.
A sweeping celebration of resilience, motherhood, and love, The Paris Daughter is “historical fiction at its best” (Sadeqa Johnson, New York Times bestselling author).
Look for it wherever books are sold. I would deeply appreciate it if you might consider picking it up this week — for yourself or as a gift for a friend. The paperback format makes it an easy book to travel with or take to the beach this summer!
Last night, I kicked off my book tour for THE PARIS DAUGHTER with two events at Writer’s Block in Winter Park, Florida (featuring my friend, New York Times bestselling middle grade author James Ponti, who writes the City Spies series), and today, my schedule is packed with a private luncheon in Sarasota, a drop-in signing at Oxford Exchange in Tampa, and an evening event featuring my friend New York Times bestselling author Sarah Penner at Tombolo Books in St. Pete!
Tomorrow morning, I jet off to North Carolina for stops in Raleigh (at Quail Ridge Books), Southern Pines (at The Country Bookshop) and Ocean Isle Beach (at Silver Coast Winery with Pelican Bookstore, with my friend, book influencer Dallas Strawn) before flying north to Philadelphia, where I’ll be meeting up with my friend, bestselling author Jamie Brenner, at Doylestown Books! The final stop on the whirlwind tour is Saturday in the gorgeous Bethany Beach, Delaware (at Bethany Beach Books) — and I’ll also be stopping in to sign stock at Browseabout Books in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.
I absolutely can’t wait to meet readers on the road this week! A few of the events are sold out, but there are still tickets remaining for some of them. Find out more (and get ticketing links) at https://kristinharmel.com/events/.
Thank you so much, as always, for all your support!
